A Little about me...
Education has always been important to me. I attended Rhode Island College for undergraduate studies and Tufts University for graduate school. I continued on to earn my Administrator's Licence at Wingate University in NC. This school year marks my fourteenth year in education. I have moved from special education, to school psychology, to administration. Throughout that time I have worked in pre-kindergarten to high school settings, giving me the whole perspective on student's learning experiences! My administrative career began in a K-5 elementary school in Charlotte, NC where I worked and lived for almost six years. Upon moving back to RI, I worked as an assistant principal at Chariho Middle School for three years. While I loved that age group and the dedicated staff I worked with, my heart remained with younger children. I was thrilled to be offered the position at Captain Isaac Paine and am eager to begin my second year.
Outside of school, my time is spent with family, friends, and taking care of myself. My husband, two boys (ages 3 and 5), and I enjoy exploring the outdoors, vacationing to new spots, and having fun with our loved ones. I enjoy reading, cooking, exercising, and traveling. I have two rescue dogs named Baxter and Charlotte. I LOVE my job and am energized going to a place where teachers are passionate about expanding students' minds and getting students as excited about learning as we are.
Here's to a great 2014-15 school year!
